Career Day

Last year when student teaching, I developed and taught an economics unit on careers to my first graders. In the unit, I decided to incorporate a community aspect to the lesson by having the parents volunteer to come in and talk to the class about their careers. We had a great turnout, and it was a huge success! The children loved having their parents in the classroom talking to their friends about the importance of their careers. A true testament about how important parent involvement is in the classroom!
